Clyde A. Griggs, 94, passed away November 26, 2016. A visitation will be held Thursday, December 1st from 4:00-6:00p.m. as well as Friday, December 2nd from 10:00-11:00a.m.. The funeral service will be Friday, December 2nd at 11:00a.m. at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will follow services at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Clyde was born on August 2, 1922 to Thomas and Anna Griggs in Pittsburg, KS. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in KCK and was a member of Bethel Lutheran. Clyde served in the U.S. Army. On March 8, 1947, he married Mildred Fouts. Clyde worked at Pratt Whitney and for J.C. Nichols. He was one of the first dry wall finishers and built homes in KCK and Leavenworth, KS. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and three sisters.
Clyde is survived by his wife Mildred "Millie" Griggs; two sons, Fred (Maryann) and David Griggs; one daughter, Constance Combs; five grandchildren, Scott (Deana) Janssen, Jody Griggs, Jamie Griggs, Shannon (David) Andrews and Gina Peterson; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
